Mrs Jillian Lias

Mrs Jillian Lias Thirty-seven year old Jillian Lias from Sully in the Vale of Glamorgan initially noticed her varicose veins six years ago when she had the first of her four children.

“My legs felt very achy, especially at night – sometimes it was so bad that I found it difficult to sleep. They also felt very hot and itchy. These symptoms got worse over the next three or four years and the varicose veins became very visible and obvious.

“I visited my GP to talk about what options were open to me with regards to treatment of my varicose veins but was told that I’d need to wait until I’d completed my family because pregnancy can increase the symptoms.

“I was disappointed with this because we had not fully decided whether or not we would have more children and I really did want to get my varicose veins sorted as they were getting increasingly painful and unsightly.

“A friend told me about Origin Medical and I was particularly interested in the new treatment that they offered because it wouldn’t mean staying in hospital, which would have been very difficult for me with four children, including a new born baby. Not having to undergo surgery was a great incentive for me to have the treatment because I wouldn’t have to spend more than a few hours away from home. I was so pleased when I met with the surgeon and was told that it was fine for me to proceed with the treatment immediately.

“I am really pleased with the treatment – it is great to have no more aches and tiredness in my legs. Obviously, I’m also pleased from a cosmetic point of view as I have no more varicose veins. I’d definitely recommend this treatment to anybody looking to get rid of varicose veins.”
